Account book, 1826-1853.

Record of money and goods received by Clark in exchange for his labor. Clark was engaged in such activities as butchering, fixing wheel barrows, haying, repairing sheds, hauling bricks and lumber, building a hen house, making coffins, mending a wagon, and making doors. Clark also made a shoemaker's bench and shoe boxes in exchange for new shoes and shoe repairs. Entries for work performed for Oliver Ames are not detailed. Clark noted the number of days he worked and the amount he was paid from 1835 to 1849. When Clark started he earned $1.25 per day; in 1846, he received a raise to $1.50. Also included is a bill for pine timber and plank. A second bill for Clark's time "cow pasturing" is featured as well.
